The Government of Bangladesh has strongly condemned the targeted harassment of Nobel Laureate Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York.
In an official statement issued on Tuesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed deep indignation, describing the act as cowardly and unacceptable on foreign soil for a internationally revered personality.
Preliminary observations from the government suggest that individuals linked to the banned organization Awami League were behind the incident. The Foreign Ministry has directed Bangladesh’s diplomatic mission in New York to collaborate with local law enforcement to identify the perpetrators and pursue necessary legal actions. Furthermore, the government appealed to Bangladeshi expatriates worldwide to refrain from such disrespectful behavior toward honored national figures.
