The Election Commission’s (EC) recently updated report on the voter list says, around 6.3 million new voters will be added to the electoral roll.

According to the report, information on more than 6.3 million individuals has been gathered so far, including 2.829 million male voters and 3.170 million female voters. The report was compiled based on data collected from the field level, according to the National Identity Registration Division (NID).

During this period, anyone who was previously left out may complete the registration online and visit the registration centre to get enrolled as a new voter.

More than 2.1 million dead voters have been identified during the ongoing door-to-door voter list update, according to the National Identity Registration Wing of the Election Commission (EC). The campaign is part of the EC’s regular effort to update and clean the national voter list.

According to the latest update, the total number of voters in the country is currently 123.732 million. The final list is scheduled to be published in June after the voter list is updated.
