Tensions have escalated to a boiling point as the Taliban government in Afghanistan issued a fierce warning to Pakistan, threatening "severe consequences" if military hostilities do not cease.
On Friday, Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid confirmed that Afghan forces have already struck key Pakistani military targets in retaliation for recent airstrikes that claimed civilian lives.
Speaking at a press conference in Kandahar, Mujahid condemned the ongoing surveillance by Pakistani drones and jets over Afghan territory, calling it "bullying." While he urged neighboring nations to help curb Pakistan’s aggression, he maintained that Kabul remains open to diplomatic dialogue for a peaceful resolution.
In a more direct threat, Afghanistan’s Chief of General Staff, Fasihuddin Fitrat, warned the Pakistani military leadership that if they continue to destabilize Afghanistan, even major cities like Islamabad will no longer be secure. He vowed that any minor provocation would be met with a crushing blow from the Afghan defense forces.
