Adam Kadyrov, the teenage son of Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov, is back in the spotlight—this time for launching a new energy drink brand rather than for political roles or controversies.
According to a report by The Moscow Times, the 18-year-old has already drawn attention for a series of incidents, including allegations of assaulting a detainee accused of burning the Quran and publicly displaying gold-plated weapons. He has also been appointed to positions related to security and taxation in Chechnya, which some observers see as preparation for a future leadership role.
His latest venture, an energy drink branded “K-13,” has now entered the market. A recently released video shows Ramzan Kadyrov personally tasting the beverage at a major shopping center in Grozny.
The launch has raised questions due to past policies. In 2012, Ramzan Kadyrov had called for a ban on energy drinks, arguing that stimulant-based beverages were inappropriate for Muslim society. The following year, sales of such drinks were restricted in Chechnya. It remains unclear whether those regulations have been formally revised ahead of the K-13 launch.
A promotional video shared on Instagram depicts a luxury car performing high-speed maneuvers, seemingly to emphasize the drink’s energy and intensity.
Meanwhile, exiled Russian media outlet Vyorstka reports that companies behind the K-13 brand are closely linked to the Kadyrov family. Analysts suggest the product may be more than just a business venture, viewing it as part of a broader effort to build Adam Kadyrov’s personal brand.
