Arman Chowdhury CPA Appointed to Key Role on Mamdani’s Transition Team

New York City’s newly elected mayor, Zohran Mamdani, has announced a 400-member transition team.

The full list was released on Monday morning, November 24, just 20 days after the election. The inclusion of 10 Bangladeshi Americans in several key committees has generated pride and excitement within the immigrant community.

Among the 10 Bangladeshi Americans selected for important committees is Arman Chowdhury CPA, the National Executive Director of the Muslim Ummah of North America - MUNA. He has been appointed to the Committee on Small Business.

The other Bangladeshi American members include:

• Karim Chowdhury, National Secretary of ESAAL

• Kazi Fouzia, Director at Transbit

• Chumotoli Haque, daughter of renowned writer Farhad Mazhar

These Bangladeshi American appointees will serve across 17 different committees within the transition team.
