The Muslim Ummah of North America - MUNA, through a joint initiative of MUNA Academy and the MUNA Education Department, has held the inaugural class of a “Special Quran Training Course” for senior members. The virtual session took place on the evening of October 16 (Friday).

The course will be conducted regularly by Ustadh Tajdid Wadud Al-Azhari every Monday and Thursday from 8:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. New York time.

Hafiz Abdullah Al Arif, MUNA’s National Assistant Executive Director and Director of the Education Department, delivered the welcome address. Highlighting the importance of correct Quran recitation, he said that it is essential for male family members to learn to recite the Quran accurately. He emphasized that proper recitation plays a vital role in leading congregational prayers at home and providing children with sound Islamic education.

Imam Delwar Hossain, National President of MUNA, attended the event as the chief guest and congratulated the senior members participating in the course. In his remarks, he underscored the important role men play in the religious education of their children and other family members. He noted that men who can recite the Quran correctly with proper Tajweed are better equipped to guide their families in Islamic learning and help foster an environment of Islamic values and practice at home. He also stressed the importance of lifelong Quran study and practice.

The closing remarks were delivered by Professor Dr. Ruhul Amin, MUNA’s National Assistant Executive Director and Director of MUNA Academy. He thanked the participating senior members and highlighted each individual’s responsibilities toward their family. He observed that correct Quran recitation and the establishment of a regular Quran-learning environment at home can positively influence family members’ religious development.

The program was moderated by Noman Hasan, Administrator of MUNA Academy.

Organizers expressed hope that the training course would provide MUNA’s senior members with the opportunity to improve their Quran recitation and develop a deeper understanding of Tajweed. They also expect the initiative to encourage greater Quranic practice within families and help participants contribute to the proper Islamic education of the next generation.
