The area surrounding Baitul Mamur Mosque in New York witnessed a festive atmosphere during Eid-ul-Adha as thousands of worshippers gathered to celebrate one of the Muslim community’s largest religious occasions.

Due to limited space inside the mosque, the mosque administration has been organizing Eid congregational prayers on several blocks of the adjacent streets for the past 15 years. This year's Eid prayer once again attracted a large number of worshippers who offered their prayers under the open sky.

The presence of children and young people was particularly noticeable, adding to the joyful spirit of the occasion. Many attendees expressed their happiness at being able to share the celebration with family members, friends, and fellow community members.

Many Bangladeshi-Americans living away from their families because of professional commitments also participated in the prayers and reflected on their memories of celebrating Eid back home. They said such gatherings help foster a sense of belonging and strengthen community bonds among expatriates.

The event was not limited to the Bangladeshi community. People from diverse ethnic and religious backgrounds also joined the celebration, reflecting the inclusive nature of the gathering.

Baitul Mamur Mosque has been organizing Eid congregational prayers regularly since 2003 and continues to serve as an important religious and community center for Muslims in New York.

Following the prayers, worshippers offered supplications for global peace, harmony, and the welfare of humanity. They expressed hope that the lessons of sacrifice embodied in Eid-ul-Adha would inspire greater compassion, selflessness, and justice among people and contribute to peace around the world.
