Hasnat Abdullah Secures Landslide Victory in Cumilla-4 Constituency

Vote counting has been completed in the closely watched Cumilla-4 (Debidwar) parliamentary constituency, with results from all 116 polling centers now finalized.

Hasnat Abdullah, contesting under the Shapla Koli symbol, has been unofficially declared elected after securing 172,000 votes. His nearest rival, Jasim Uddin, who ran with the Truck symbol, received 26,000 votes.

The results were announced Thursday evening Bangladesh time.

Earlier in the day, voting for the 13th National Parliamentary Election began simultaneously at 42,779 polling stations across the country at 7:30 a.m. local time and continued until 4:30 p.m.

Alongside the parliamentary election, a nationwide referendum was also held.
