‘Yes’ Vote Leads in July National Charter Referendum, Unofficial Results Show

Voting in the 13th National Parliamentary Election and the nationwide referendum on the “July National Charter” concluded on Thursday, with early unofficial results indicating strong support for the proposed charter.

Polling was held simultaneously in 299 constituencies across the country from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Bangladesh time.

According to unofficial results from 106 polling centers across several parliamentary constituencies in Dhaka, the “Yes” vote in favor of the July National Charter has received 69,347 votes so far.

In contrast, the “No” vote has secured 19,945 votes.

If the “July National Charter” is ultimately approved in the referendum, several major constitutional reforms are expected to be implemented in Bangladesh.

Vote counting is ongoing, and final results are yet to be announced.
