The Election Commission has announced unofficial results for 297 seats in Bangladesh’s 13th National Parliamentary Election.
According to the results, the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP)-led alliance secured 212 seats. The Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami-led alliance won 77 seats. Independent candidates were victorious in seven constituencies, while Islami Andolan Bangladesh won one seat.
Out of 70 seats in Dhaka Division, BNP won 59. Jamaat secured eight seats. Two seats were won by BNP rebel independents, and one seat went to Khelafat Majlish. Jamaat and its alliance partners failed to win any seat in eight of the division’s 13 districts.
Detailed constituency-wise results were announced for districts including Tangail, Kishoreganj, Manikganj, Munshiganj, Dhaka, Gazipur, Narsingdi, Narayanganj, Rajbari, Faridpur, Gopalganj, Madaripur and Shariatpur, with the majority of seats going to BNP candidates.
In the 58 seats of Chattogram Division, BNP won 50. Its ally Ganosamhati Andolan secured one seat, and BNP rebel independents won three. Jamaat won three seats, while its ally National Citizens Party (NCP) secured one. Jamaat and its allies failed to win any seat in seven districts of the division.
Constituency results were declared across districts including Brahmanbaria, Cumilla, Chandpur, Feni, Noakhali, Lakshmipur, Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar and the three hill districts.
In Sylhet Division, BNP won 18 of the 19 seats. Jamaat failed to win any seat, though its 11-party alliance partner Khelafat Majlish secured one.
Jamaat recorded its strongest performance in Khulna Division, winning 25 of the 36 seats. BNP secured 11 seats. Jamaat won all seats in three of the division’s 10 districts.
BNP won 28 of 39 seats in Rajshahi Division, while Jamaat secured 11. BNP swept all seven seats in Bogura district, while Jamaat won all three seats in Chapainawabganj. No alliance partners or independents from the two major blocs won in this division.
BNP won 16 of 21 seats in Barishal Division. Jamaat secured two seats. Gono Odhikar Parishad, Bangladesh Jatiya Party (BJP), and Islami Andolan Bangladesh each won one seat. The BNP-led alliance won 18 seats overall in the division.
In Rangpur Division’s 33 seats, Jamaat won 17. NCP secured two seats, one independent candidate won, and BNP won 13 seats. Jamaat-led candidates swept all seats in four of the division’s eight districts.
Out of 24 seats in Mymensingh Division, voting was held in 23. BNP won 18 seats. Jamaat secured three, while Khelafat and an independent candidate won one each.
The constituency-level results were announced district by district across all divisions, confirming the BNP-led alliance’s overall majority in the 297-seat tally declared so far.
