Measles Outbreak: 12 More Deaths in 24 Hours; Total Toll Reaches 451

Bangladesh is facing a severe escalation in its measles outbreak, with 12 more deaths reported due to the virus and its symptoms in the last 24 hours.

During the same period, 1,303 new cases were identified across the country. According to a press release from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) issued this Friday, the total death toll has risen to 451 over the past two months (March 15 to May 15).

During this period, more than 55,000 suspected and confirmed cases have been recorded. Health officials stated that over 40,000 patients have been hospitalized since the outbreak began, and efforts are ongoing to curb the spread and provide medical assistance.
