BNP Leader Mirza Abbas Recovering in Malaysia, May Return Home in Early June

Mirza Abbas, a standing committee member of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party and political adviser to the prime minister, is currently undergoing treatment in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. His physical condition has improved significantly after extensive medical care and close observation, according to his wife Afroza Abbas.

Speaking to expatriate journalists at around 5:00 pm local time on Saturday at Prince Court Medical Centre, Afroza Abbas said that Mirza Abbas has been kept under rest and rehabilitation treatment in line with doctors’ recommendations.

She said every stage of his treatment is being monitored carefully and that the medical team is satisfied with his progress. Following doctors’ advice, he has also been spending some time each day moving around the hospital in a wheelchair as part of his recovery process.

According to Afroza Abbas, well-wishers and party leaders living in Malaysia have been visiting the hospital regularly to see Mirza Abbas, and he has been speaking with them during their visits.

Family members have requested prayers from the people of Bangladesh for his full recovery. They also expressed gratitude to supporters at home and abroad who have continued to inquire about his health and send messages wishing him a speedy recovery.
