Jamat-e-Islami Secretary General Mia Golam Parwar warned that the government risks losing public trust and facing popular backlash if administration or ruling party affiliates obstruct the opposition's peaceful long march.

Speaking at a press conference at the party’s central office in Moghbazar on Friday, Parwar announced the final preparations for the 11-party alliance's march from Dhaka to Chattogram scheduled for Saturday. The program aims to press for the implementation of the referendum verdict and the July Charter.

The rally is scheduled to flag off from Shapla Shapla Chattar, traversing Narayanganj, Cumilla, and Feni before culminating at Laldighi Maidan in Chattogram. National Citizen Party (NCP) Chief Coordinator Nasiruddin Patwari added that the government must bear full responsibility for any untoward incidents or attacks during the march.
