Passing of Eminent Islamic Scholar Sultan Zauq Nadvi

Religious Affairs Adviser Dr. A F M Khalid Hossain has expressed deep sorrow and grief over the passing of one of the nation’s most revered Islamic scholars, Allama Sultan Zauq Nadvi, the founding Director General of Jamiya Darul Ma’arif Al-Islamia in Chattogram and a pioneer in the reform of madrasa education in Bangladesh.

Religious Affairs Adviser Dr. A F M Khalid Hossain has expressed deep sorrow and grief over the passing of one of the nation’s most revered Islamic scholars, Allama Sultan Zauq Nadvi, the founding Director General of Jamiya Darul Ma’arif Al-Islamia in Chattogram and a pioneer in the reform of madrasa education in Bangladesh.

In a condolence message issued today (Saturday), the Adviser described Allama Nadvi’s passing as an “irreparable loss for the nation.” He prayed for the forgiveness of the departed soul and extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, according to a statement from the Ministry of Religious Affairs.

“Allama Sultan Zauq Nadvi dedicated his entire life to the cause of Islam and the welfare of the Muslim Ummah,” Dr. Hossain said. “His countless students and disciples are continuing his mission, serving the cause of Islam both at home and abroad.”

Allama Nadvi passed away on Friday night (May 2) around midnight while undergoing treatment at Evercare Hospital in Chattogram. He was 86 years old.
