Colonel Sophia Qureshi, a senior spokesperson for the Indian Armed Forces, revealed on Saturday (May 10) the details of India’s retaliatory strikes on Pakistan following what she described as “deliberate targeting” of Indian military infrastructure by the neighboring country.
In a press briefing, Colonel Qureshi said that the Indian Air Force launched precision attacks on critical Pakistani installations, including command and control centers, radar sites, technical bases, and weapon depots. The strikes targeted key military bases in Rafiqui, Murid, Chaklala, Rahim Yar Khan, Sukkur, and Chunian using both fighter jets and advanced weaponry. Additionally, radar sites in Pasrur and the Sialkot airbase were also hit.
She emphasized that the retaliatory strikes caused minimal civilian casualties, underlining the focused nature of the operations.
Colonel Qureshi further stated that during operations on the western front, Pakistan attempted to hit Indian military assets with high-speed missiles. However, the damage was limited. She also alleged that Pakistan deployed U-CAV drones, long-range munitions, and aircraft to attack Indian installations — all of which were effectively neutralized by Indian forces.
According to her statement, over 26 Pakistani attempts to breach Indian airspace along the international border and Line of Control — from Srinagar to Naliya — were successfully thwarted. Minor damages were reported at airbases in Udhampur, Pathankot, Adampur, Bhuj, and Bathinda.
Colonel Qureshi noted a particularly aggressive move by Pakistan at 1:40 AM on Friday night, when a high-speed missile was launched targeting an airbase in Punjab. She also accused Pakistan of attempting to target air force bases, healthcare facilities, and schools in Srinagar, Bandipora, and Udhampur.
Concluding the briefing, Colonel Qureshi firmly stated: “The Indian Armed Forces remain on the highest alert and have responded appropriately to every hostile act.”
