Russia has carried out one of the largest aerial assaults of the ongoing war on Ukraine’s capital, Kyiv, with Odesa being the most severely affected city. According to reports from Al Jazeera, at least three people were killed and several others injured in the strikes.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Russia launched 315 drones and seven missiles overnight. Calling for stronger U.S. intervention, Zelensky urged Washington to use its power to compel Russia into a peace agreement.

Russia has claimed that the recent attacks were in retaliation for Ukrainian strikes on Russian airbases and bridges. Ukraine’s Air Force reported that Russia has launched 1,451 drones and 78 missiles across different regions in the past week alone.

Meanwhile, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that, due to fears of drone attacks from Ukraine, airports in 13 cities—including Moscow and St. Petersburg—were temporarily closed overnight, with all flights suspended.
