Russian President Vladimir Putin has concluded a brief visit to the United States lasting approximately five and a half hours, according to Russian news agency TASS. During this time, he spent nearly three hours in a closed-door meeting with President Donald Trump.

On Friday 10:54 AM local time, Putin's aircraft landed at a military base in Anchorage, Alaska. Upon arrival at the airport, he met President Trump, and the two leaders entered the presidential limousine together, marking the beginning of their high-level summit through private discussions.

Putin reportedly laid out in detail the conditions he believes are necessary to resolve the ongoing war in Ukraine and establish peace. Throughout the discussions, he remained firm, showing no signs of softening his position. He addressed what he called the "root causes" of the war and issued stern warnings to Kyiv and its European allies, cautioning them not to interfere in what he described as an "ongoing process." President Trump appeared tired and irritated during the talks.

Following the Alaska summit, Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of Russia’s Security Council, posted on his Telegram channel:
“1. A full-fledged mechanism for high-level talks between Russia and the United States has been reestablished. The meeting was peaceful, with no final decisions or threats made.
2. The Russian President personally and thoroughly presented our conditions to the American leader.
3. After nearly three hours of discussion, the White House leader did not decide to increase pressure on Russia—at least for now.”

The discussions were conducted in various formats, including private talks in the presidential limousine and a “three-on-three” small group meeting. The Russian delegation included Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov and Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. The U.S. side was represented by Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff.

After the meeting, President Putin stated that the resolution of the Ukraine crisis was the primary topic of discussion. He called for a fresh start in bilateral relations and renewed cooperation, and extended an invitation to Trump to visit Moscow. Trump acknowledged progress had been made during the meeting but noted that no final agreements were reached on all matters.
