At the World Economic Forum in Davos, Jared Kushner, son-in-law and senior advisor to U.S. President Donald Trump, unveiled an ambitious post-war vision for the Gaza Strip. Describing it as a definitive "master plan" with no alternative, Kushner introduced the "New Gaza" project, which aims to completely reconstruct the territory.

He emphasized that the success of this plan depends on the disarmament of Hamas, stating that failure to do so would hinder the aspirations of the Gazan people. This proposal follows the signing of Trump’s controversial "Board of Peace" charter and serves as the next phase of a 20-point ceasefire strategy.

The core of the plan involves transforming Gaza’s coastline into a premier tourist destination, featuring approximately 180 skyscrapers and high-end hotels. Additionally, the blueprint includes the construction of a new seaport near the Egyptian border and a modern airport situated close to the site of Gaza’s former destroyed airport. Under the "New Rafah" and "New Gaza" urban development initiatives, Kushner proposed the construction of 100,000 permanent housing units, 200 schools, and 75 medical facilities. He claimed that this massive undertaking could be completed within two to three years, turning Gaza into an industrial hub with full employment.

However, the presentation has drawn sharp criticism from human rights advocates and political analysts. While Kushner characterized the project as an "unprecedented investment opportunity" and urged the private sector to participate, critics argue that the plan exploits Palestinian vulnerability. Rami Abdu, founder of the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor, stated that such a vision aims to erase Palestinian identity and existence through subjugation and control. Critics maintain that transforming Gaza into a city reminiscent of Dubai or Doha is a strategic move to suppress political rights under the guise of economic development.
