British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has ruled out the possibility of deploying troops to Iran, stating that the conflict is not Britain’s war.

Speaking to journalists on Monday, Starmer said, “This is not our war and we are not going to be drawn into it.”

He emphasized that the United Kingdom is taking “defensive measures” to protect British lives, national interests, and its allies in the region.

Reiterating that Britain would not become directly involved in the conflict, Starmer added that efforts would continue to help reopen the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz.

Although the UK has decided against sending troops, it is still playing a significant strategic role. The government has allowed the United States to use British military bases for potential strikes on Iranian targets linked to securing the Strait of Hormuz.

In addition, British fighter jets have been deployed in the Middle East to intercept drones and missiles launched by Iran, as part of efforts to maintain regional security.
