Malaysia's Immigration Department has imposed major restrictions on its Multiple Entry Visa (MEV) facility, limiting the option for tourists from 31 countries, including Bangladesh, effective September 1.
Under the updated guidelines, general tourists and social visitors from the listed nations will no longer receive standard multi-entry visit visas and must now apply for Single Entry Visas (SEV). However, exemptions allowing multiple entries remain available for specific purposes, including business travel, medical tourism, wedding tourism, and fly-and-cruise itineraries.
Authorities emphasized that the policy changes exclusively target visit and social travel permits. Existing foreign work permits, employment passes, and labor-related visa protocols remain completely unaffected by the new restrictions.
