Pakistani security sources have expressed serious concerns that Indian intelligence agencies may be planning to stage fake “encounters” using Pakistani nationals who are currently detained in various Indian prisons. The alarming claim was reported by Geo News, citing unnamed Pakistani security officials.
According to the report, at least 56 Pakistani citizens, who were allegedly arrested unlawfully, could be used in fabricated cross-border infiltration incidents, particularly in the Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir region. The purported aim of these operations would be to depict them as terrorists attempting to infiltrate Indian territory, thereby justifying military actions and promoting anti-Pakistan sentiment.
The sources warned that Indian media may be given footage and images of these staged operations, showing alleged weapons recovered from the deceased and portraying them as militants. In some cases, the detainees may be coerced into giving false confessions or making anti-Pakistan statements prior to being killed, the report claimed.
Furthermore, the sources emphasized that such actions could serve to reinforce India’s narrative of Pakistani aggression and justify security crackdowns along the Line of Control.
In a related development, senior Indian journalist Archana Tiwari has accused Indian television channels of spreading disinformation about a recent attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir. According to a report by Pakistan-based English daily The Express Tribune, Tiwari's investigation revealed significant discrepancies between the government’s official account and eyewitness testimonies.
Tiwari reportedly found that several local witnesses contradicted the narrative presented by Indian security forces, suggesting that the incident may have been staged. “Archana Tiwari’s revelations indicate that the so-called encounter in Pahalgam might have been a false flag operation designed for propaganda,” a political analyst was quoted as saying.
The situation raises pressing questions about the authenticity of counter-terror operations and the potential use of detained foreign nationals in politically motivated acts of violence.
