Trump: No One Will Vote Without a Voter ID

U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that no one will be allowed to vote without a valid voter ID. In a post on his social media platform Truth Social on Saturday, Trump said he is preparing to sign an executive order making voter identification mandatory for all voters. "Every single vote must have voter ID. No exceptions!" Trump wrote.

He further clarified that only seriously ill individuals and military personnel stationed overseas will be allowed to vote by mail. All other voters must cast their ballots in person with valid identification.

Trump has long questioned the integrity of the U.S. electoral system. He continues to claim—without evidence—that his 2020 loss to Democratic President Joe Biden was due to widespread voter fraud. His claims have been debunked by multiple court rulings and investigations.

Trump and his Republican allies have also alleged that non-citizens voted in large numbers, a claim that experts say is extremely rare and unsubstantiated.

Trump has previously called for a return to paper ballots and hand-counted votes, criticizing electronic voting machines as unreliable.

His proposed executive order is expected before the 2026 midterm elections, though legal experts question whether the president has the authority to enforce such rules on state-run elections.
