The United States announced on Friday that it has sent more than six tons of medical supplies to Venezuela as part of efforts to help stabilize the country, one month after American special forces removed President Nicolás Maduro from power.

In a statement, the United States Department of State said that more than 6,000 kilograms of priority medical supplies were delivered in 25 pallets to the Venezuelan people. The shipment is part of a broader plan aimed at supporting the country’s “stabilization, recovery, and transition.”

Earlier this week, Washington also took steps to further ease sanctions related to Venezuela’s oil industry.

The move to relax restrictions is expected to expand opportunities for American companies to participate in Venezuela’s oil sector, particularly following the lifting of state control in the industry.

US officials said the humanitarian assistance and economic measures are intended to support Venezuela’s transition and help address urgent needs in the country.
