U.S. President Donald Trump has signaled a hardening stance against Tehran, stating he will no longer remain patient regarding Iran's nuclear activities.
In an interview with Fox News aired Thursday night, Trump urged Iran to reach a settlement with Washington immediately. He dismissed Iran's efforts to recover enriched uranium as more of a "public relations" move than a security necessity.
While the U.S. insists that Iran must transfer its enriched uranium stockpiles abroad, Tehran maintains its right to nuclear technology for peaceful purposes. However, Iranian spokesperson Ibrahim Rezaei recently warned that Iran could enrich uranium to 90% purity—weapons-grade level—if attacked again. Trump's remarks add further fuel to the already volatile situation in the Middle East.
