A 27-year-old Bangladeshi national, Mirza Fahim Ahmed, was killed in a road accident while travelling to work in Los Angeles, California.

The accident occurred at around 7:53 a.m. on Wednesday at the intersection of Lassen Street and Reseda Boulevard in the city's Valley area.

Fahim had moved to the United States about a year and a half ago with his parents and younger brother. His family is originally from Jigatala in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

The young man had recently returned to Bangladesh during Eid-ul-Adha, where he got married. After returning to Los Angeles, he had applied to immigration authorities to bring his wife to the United States. However, he died in the accident before being reunited with her.

Reviewing CCTV footage, the Los Angeles Police Department said Fahim's vehicle was forced off the road after being struck by two other vehicles and crashed into a light pole. The front of his car was severely damaged, and rescuers faced difficulties while trying to remove him from the wreckage.

"Fahim died at the scene of the accident," police said.

Drivers of the other two vehicles were also injured and were taken to a hospital for treatment.

Fahim's younger brother, Mirza Tamim, said the body would be handed over to the family on Saturday. Details of funeral prayers and burial arrangements will be announced afterward.

Tamim said a lawyer has been hired to pursue legal action against those responsible for the crash, while police have also launched an investigation into the incident.
