U.S. President Donald Trump returned to the White House a day earlier than scheduled from the presidential retreat at Camp David amid escalating tensions in the Middle East, according to a report by Samaa TV on Sunday.

The report said Trump had traveled to Camp David, the presidential retreat in rural Maryland, to spend the weekend. He had originally been scheduled to remain there for another day but returned to Washington unexpectedly. The White House did not immediately provide an explanation for the change in plans.

Trump's early return came as fresh tensions emerged in the Middle East. The Saudi-led coalition, which is fighting Yemen's Iran-backed Houthi rebels, said the group launched a ballistic missile toward the Saudi capital, Riyadh, in the early hours of the day.

Reports also emerged of a fire near Riyadh's King Khalid International Airport, adding to concerns over the deteriorating security situation.

Amid the escalating developments, the U.S. State Department and several American diplomatic missions issued security alerts for U.S. citizens in the Middle East, warning that the regional situation could worsen rapidly.

In its advisory, the State Department said the ongoing military conflict has the potential to escalate quickly and urged Americans in the region to remain vigilant and closely monitor official updates.
