Trump suspends all tariffs for three months : Exception for China

US President Donald Trump has announced a three month suspension of the retaliatory tariffs he had imposed on various countries. During this period, a minimum 10% tariff will be applied to goods from these countries. However, Trump has announced an increase in tariffs on Chinese goods to 125%.

According to British news outlet BBC, he announced this in a post on his social media platform, Truth Social, on Wednesday. He wrote, "Based on China’s lack of respect for global markets, I am imposing a 125% tariff on Chinese goods entering the United States."

Trump further wrote that in the future, China and other countries will come to understand that the days of deceiving the United States are over and will no longer be tolerated.

He added that representatives from over 75 countries have contacted the US, requesting to engage in negotiation discussions to resolve issues related to trade, tariffs, currency manipulation, and non-tariff barriers.

As a result, announcing the suspension of retaliatory tariffs on all countries except China, Trump wrote: "I have approved a 90-day suspension of retaliatory tariffs. During this period, the retaliatory tariff will be reduced to 10%, which will take effect immediately."
