Pakistan-born USA fast bowler Ali Khan has been denied an Indian visa. The 35-year-old cricketer who was born in Attock City in Pakistan’s Punjab took to Instagram stories on Tuesday (January 13) to post a picture of him and captioned it, “India visa denied but KFC for the win."

Ali Khan, who has played 15 ODIs and 18 T20Is for the USA so far and dismissed 33 and 16 batters, respectively, was part of the USA’s T20 World Cup squad in 2024 and played in the Group A matches against India and Pakistan, where he dismissed Rishabh Pant and Fakhar Zaman, respectively.

He is all set to be picked in the USA’s squad for the T20 World Cup 2026 as well.

Ali Khan has played 99 T20 matches so far, in which he has 93 wickets to his credit. He represented Abu Dhabi Knight Riders in the first three seasons of ILT20 and played for Gulf Giants in ILT20 2025-26.

He was signed by Kolkata Knight Riders as a replacement player for Harry Gurney but didn’t get a chance to play any match for the Shah Rukh Khan-owned team.

The matches of the T20 World Cup 2026 will be played from February 7 to May 8 across five venues in India – Ahmedabad, Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Chennai – and three in Sri Lanka – Colombo (RPS Stadium and SSC Stadium) and Pallekele.

In the T20 World Cup 2026, the USA are part of Group A along with India, Pakistan, Namibia and the Netherlands and are scheduled to play three out of their four matches in India. Their first Group A match against India is set to be played at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on February 7, and then they will take on Pakistan on February 10 at Sinhalese Sports Club in Colombo. The USA’s remaining two Group A matches against the Netherlands and Namibia will be played on February 13 and 15, respectively, at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
