For the first time since the start of the U.S. military operation against Iran, the American forces have confirmed casualties. The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that three U.S. soldiers have been killed in action since the operation began on Saturday.
According to a CENTCOM statement, the three soldiers were “killed in action” while carrying out their duties on the battlefield. In addition, five other U.S. service members have been reported seriously injured during the operation. Following military protocol, the names and identities of the deceased will not be released until at least 24 hours after their families have been notified.
When announcing the military campaign against Iran, President Donald Trump had previously warned about potential casualties. He stated, “Our brave soldiers’ lives may be at risk, and we may experience losses. This often happens during warfare.”
