NEWS DESKDr. Shafiqur Rahman, the Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, has been discharged from the hospital after receiving treatment during ten days. He left the hospital on Tuesday morning in the presence of a large number of party leaders and activists and doctors.
Earlier, on August 2, a successful heart surgery was performed on the Jamaat Ameer at this hospital. At a press briefing on the occasion of his release from the hospital on Tuesday morning, Jamaat Naib-e-Ameer Dr. Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher said, "By the will of Allah, Ameer-e-Jamaat Dr. Shafiqur Rahman is well and healthy."
He said, "After resting at home for three weeks, Insha Allah, he will be able to participate in party activities with us." Dr. Taher conveyed his greetings to those who prayed for the Ameer and expressed gratitude to everyone.
It is noteworthy that the Jamaat Amir suddenly fell ill and collapsed on stage while delivering a speech at a rally in Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital on July 19. Later, on July 30, he underwent an angiogram at United Hospital. There, four blocks were detected in his heart.
