Bangladesh Announces Three Hajj Packages for 2026 with Costs Starting from 4.67 Lakh Taka

The Bangladesh government has announced three distinct Hajj packages for 2026, with the minimum cost set at 4,67,167 Taka. The announcement was made on Sunday (September 28) by the country's Religious Affairs Adviser, Dr. A F M Khalid Hossain, during a press conference at the Ministry of Religious Affairs.

He mentioned that, as in previous years, a significant number of Bangladeshi pilgrims will take part in the Hajj, and the government has set up three different packages for the pilgrims.

Hajj Package 1 (Special)

This premium package offers accommodation within a 700-meter radius of the Haram in Makkah and in the Central Area of Madinah. The rooms will have attached bathrooms with a maximum of five people per room. In Mina, the tent will be located in Zone-2, and the food will be provided by the Moallem in Mina-Arafah with "D+" category services. The cost for this package is 6,90,597 Taka.

Hajj Package 2

This package offers accommodation between 1.2 to 1.8 kilometers from the Haram in Makkah and in the Central Area of Madinah. The rooms will have attached bathrooms, with a maximum of six people per room. The tent in Mina will be in Zone-2, with "D" category services and food provided by the Moallem in Mina-Arafah. The cost for this package is 5,58,881 Taka.

Both Package 1 and Package 2 will allow room upgrades and short packages with additional costs. The stay in Saudi Arabia will generally last 35-47 days, but short packages will be for 22-30 days.

Hajj Package 3 (Economical)

This budget package provides accommodation in the Aziziyah area of Makkah and outside the Central Area in Madinah. The rooms will have a maximum of six people per room, and the tent in Mina will be in Zone-5. Food services will be provided by the Moallem in Mina-Arafah with "D" category services. An air-conditioned bus will be available for daily prayers to the Haram. The cost for this package is 4,67,167 Taka.

This new addition allows Hajj pilgrims to stay in the Aziziyah area, a change from previous years. In the past, pilgrims from the highest Hajj-sending countries, such as Indonesia, Pakistan, and Malaysia, have been accommodated in Aziziyah. The area where Bangladeshi pilgrims were previously housed has been demolished by the Saudi government, which is why future pilgrims will stay in Aziziyah.

Private Hajj Packages for Agencies

The government has also announced a general Hajj package for private agencies, priced at 5,09,185 Taka. Agencies can create additional packages based on this government-approved price. Pilgrims will need to bring a minimum of 35 Saudi Riyals per day for their meals, which they will purchase independently.

Other Details

The Hajj for 2026 will take place on May 26, depending on the moon sighting. It is estimated that 1,27,198 Bangladeshis will perform Hajj that year. The primary registration began on July 27, 2025, and will end on October 12, 2025.

Individuals aged 12 years or older, who are physically and mentally fit, can register for the 2026 Hajj by paying an initial deposit of 3.5 lakh Taka. Full payment must be made by December 31, 2025.

Additionally, the Hajj agreement will be signed by November 9, 2025, rental and transport contracts must be completed by February 1, 2026, Hajj visas will begin to be issued on February 8, 2026, and flights for Hajj will commence on April 18, 2026.
