BNP to Finalize and Greenlight Single Candidates for Each Constituency Soon: Salahuddin Ahmed

Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) is in the final stages of selecting candidates for the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election and will soon give the “green signal” to one candidate per constituency to begin ground-level campaigning, according to BNP Standing Committee Member Salahuddin Ahmed.

Speaking to the media at his residence in Gulshan on Friday, October 3, Ahmed said the party is actively working on candidate selection. “BNP is a large, democratic, and morally grounded political party. We have multiple qualified aspirants in each constituency — in some cases, up to 10 to 12 candidates. A single candidate will soon be approved for each seat, although the official announcement will come after the election schedule is released,” he said.

He also emphasized that, except in urgent matters, no action should be taken that may provoke national instability. Regarding election alliances, Ahmed confirmed that discussions with various political parties are ongoing.
