According to party sources, Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman is expected to return to the country in November after 17 years in exile. Several BNP leaders, advisers, and diplomats based in Dhaka have confirmed the development.

A close adviser to Tarique Rahman stated, "After much uncertainty, it is now clear that Tarique Rahman plans to return to Bangladesh in mid-November. He may leave London between November 10 and 20 with plans to fly to Dhaka."

Sources within the party revealed that he will travel aboard a commercial flight from Heathrow Airport in London. Before his return, he may visit Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah.

In recent months, Tarique Rahman has met with two influential diplomats in London, one of whom was the Acting U.S. Ambassador to Bangladesh, Tracy Ann Jacobson. During these meetings, he reiterated his intention to return to Bangladesh.

Additionally, sources have confirmed that the BNP is in the process of acquiring a bulletproof minibus for BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia and a bulletproof SUV for Tarique Rahman. The approval for both vehicles has already been granted by the Ministry of Home Affairs in Bangladesh.
