Shamim Sayeedi, Chairman of the Allama Sayeedi Foundation and Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s nominated parliamentary candidate for Pirojpur-2 constituency, said that people across the country loved his father, Allama Delwar Hossain Sayeedi, solely for his devotion to the Qur’an.

He said, “My father’s only ‘crime’ was spreading the message of the Qur’an from door to door. Because of that, he endured 13 years of oppression and persecution. He remained smiling even in the hospital, but he was killed there. Now it is time to take revenge for that killing.”

He made these remarks on Friday (October 24) while addressing a public rally organized by the Jamaat-e-Islami units of Chhagalnaiya Upazila and Municipality in Feni.

Shamim Sayeedi said, “The upcoming election is our struggle to free ourselves from Indian aggression. The fight ahead is to protect Islam. The next vote is to defend our independence. We cannot afford to lose this battle. People of this country now want to establish a welfare-oriented and justice-based society. Therefore, we must raise a mass wave of support for the Dāṛipālā (scales) symbol across every neighborhood.”

He further said, “They have ruled this country for the past 16 years and looted 28 trillion taka of our hard-earned money, fleeing to India. They drugged our young generation into sleep with addiction. But now the youth have awakened — our students, our children have risen. The dark clouds will clear, InshaAllah. The days of despair are over. You can already see rays of light spreading from Dhaka University, and soon, under that light, the flag of Islam will be raised across Chattogram, Rajshahi, Khulna, and the entire Bangladesh, InshaAllah.”

He urged voters to support Jamaat-e-Islami’s nominated candidates in both parliamentary and local elections by voting for the scales (Dāṛipālā) symbol.

The gathering was presided over by Chhagalnaiya Upazila Jamaat Ameer K.M. Azad Hossain and conducted by Municipal Jamaat Ameer Mufti Abdul Hannan.

Among others who spoke at the event were Advocate S.M. Kamal Uddin (Jamaat candidate for Feni-1 constituency), Feni District Jamaat Ameer Mufti Abdul Hannan, Naib-e-Ameer Professor Abu Yusuf, Jamaat’s nominated Upazila Chairman candidate Mujibur Rahman, Vice Chairman candidate Mohammad Elias, Municipal Mayor candidate Payer Ahmed Mojumdar, and Upazila Jamaat Secretary Mohammad Jafar Ahmad Molla.
