Chief Adviser Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus has said that diploma engineers have been playing an important role in Bangladesh’s journey of development. From infrastructure to industry, their service and technical expertise have contributed greatly to building the foundation of the modern economy.
He said that as a large professional organization, the Institution of Diploma Engineers, Bangladesh (IDEB) has been nurturing this skilled workforce, promoting technical education, and encouraging innovation for sustainable growth.
In a message marking “Public Engineering Day and IDEB’s Founding Anniversary” on Friday (November 7), the Chief Adviser expressed these views.
He extended greetings and congratulations to all members of the organization on the occasion of Public Engineering Day 2025 and the 55th founding anniversary of the Institution of Diploma Engineers, Bangladesh (IDEB).
IDEB observes Public Engineering Day every year on November 8. The theme for this year is “Skilled Manpower — the Foundation of Nation Building.”
Terming the theme very timely, Dr. Yunus said, “The true strength of a nation lies not only in its natural resources but also in the knowledge, skills, and creativity of its people.”
He added, “With continued commitment, professionalism, and the spirit of innovation, IDEB members will remain at the forefront of our nation-building efforts. I believe they will contribute significantly to inclusive development and the realization of our national aspirations.”
The Chief Adviser wished overall success for all programs undertaken to mark Public Engineering Day and IDEB’s founding anniversary.
