National Security Advisor Khalilur Rahman will lead the Bangladesh delegation to the 7th NSA-level meeting of the Colombo Security Conclave in the Indian capital of New Delhi.
The event is to be held on Nov 19-20.
Ajit Doval, the national security advisor of India, extended the invitation to Khalilur to attend the regional forum, according to a statement from the Chief Advisor’s Office on Friday.
The CAO says the interim government has emphasised regional cooperation as a priority and is actively engaging in meetings with different regional bodies.
It notes that Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus was elected the chair of BIMSTEC in April. Yunus has also been working to reactivate SAARC.
Advisor Khalilur had previously led the Bangladeshi delegation to the China-Indian Ocean Region Forum in Kunming, China.
“His participation at the Colombo Security Conclave in New Delhi is in continuation of the interim government's efforts to foster mutually beneficial regional cooperation,” the CAO said.
