Voter Registration for Bangladeshi Expatriates in 16 Countries Begins Today

A five-day voter registration drive for Bangladeshi expatriates living in 16 countries, including the United States, Canada, and Australia, begins tonight (24 November, Bangladesh time) at 12:00 a.m. Registration can be completed through the Postal Vote BD mobile app.

The countries where registration opens today are:
United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, Cuba, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, Panama, Honduras, Haiti, Nicaragua, Guatemala, Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, and the Bahamas.

According to the Bangladesh Election Commission, the voter registration process for Bangladeshi citizens living in East Asia, South America, and Africa will also continue until 28 November.

For the first time, the Bangladesh Election Commission has introduced a postal ballot system to enable expatriate Bangladeshis to vote from abroad.

To assist registrants round the clock during the postal vote app registration period, the Election Commission has set up a 24/7 Help Desk.
