Osman Hadi Transferred from Dhaka Medical to Evercare, Condition Still Critical

Sharif Osman Bin Hadi, spokesperson of Inqilab Moncho and independent parliamentary candidate for Dhaka-8, who was critically injured after being shot by assailants, has been transferred to Evercare Hospital for advanced treatment.

Around 8:00 pm on Friday, 12 December, the ambulance carrying him reached Evercare from Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH). He was first brought to the DMCH emergency department at 2:35 pm after being shot.

In the evening, DMCH Director Brigadier General Md Asaduzzaman said that no bullet was found inside Hadi’s head during surgery; surgeons believe the bullet may have exited. However, his condition remains critical.

Earlier in the afternoon at Bijoynagar in Paltan, two assailants on a motorcycle opened fire at Hadi while he was travelling by rickshaw after Juma prayers. Misbah, who was accompanying him, said the attackers fled instantly, and Hadi was taken to the hospital in the same rickshaw.

Various political parties and organisations have expressed concern and condemned the attack on Osman Hadi. Protests have erupted in different parts of the country, demanding the immediate arrest of the attackers. Interim Government Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus has ordered maximum medical care for Hadi and instructed authorities to conduct a swift investigation and identify the perpetrators.
