A condolence book has been opened at the BNP Chairperson's political office in Gulshan following the death of BNP Chairperson and former prime minister Begum Khaleda Zia.
Several foreign diplomats, including ambassadors and high commissioners, signed the book to express their condolences.
Among those who paid their respects were Pakistan High Commissioner Imran Haider, newly appointed Netherlands Ambassador Joris Franciscus Gerardus Van Bommel, Chinese Ambassador Yao Wen, Oman Ambassador Jamil Haji Ismail Al Balushi, and India's High Commissioner to Bangladesh Pranay Verma.
The condolence book was opened at 3:00pm today, said BNP Media Cell member Sayrul Kabir Khan.
At around 3:15pm, BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman left the office. Shortly afterwards, representatives from the embassies of Sweden, the Netherlands and Iran arrived to offer their respects and sign the condolence book.
