Tarique Rahman Pays Courtesy Visits to Jamaat-e-Islami Amir Dr. Shafiqur Rahman After Election

Following the recent elections, BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman visited the residence of Jamaat-e-Islami Amir Dr. Shafiqur Rahman to pay a courtesy call. From there, he is scheduled to visit the residence of NCP convener Nahid Islam.

Accompanying Tarique Rahman were BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and Standing Committee member Nazrul Islam Khan.

On the other side, Jamaat Amir Dr. Shafiqur Rahman was joined by the party’s Naib Amir Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher and Media & Propaganda Department Chief Ehsanul Mahbub Jubayer.

The courtesy visit took place on Sunday evening at the Jamaat Amir’s residence in Bashundhara. According to a BNP source, these visits are part of the party’s effort to initiate positive politics, with Tarique Rahman reaching out to leaders of other parties in a spirit of goodwill.

Previously, following the death of BNP’s former Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman had visited Tarique Rahman at his Gulshan office to express condolences. He had also visited Evercare Hospital to inquire about her health while she was admitted. Leaders from NCP and other parties similarly paid their respects and condolences to Tarique Rahman after her passing.
