Portfolios have been distributed among eight advisors, holding ranks of ministers and state ministers, in the newly formed government of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman. The Cabinet Division issued a gazette notification in this regard on Friday (February 20).
According to the notification, among the advisors with the rank of Minister, Mirza Abbas Uddin Ahmed, Nazrul Islam Khan, and Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed have been appointed as 'Political Advisors.' Additionally, Md. Ismail Zabiullah has been given the charge of the Ministry of Public Administration, while Rashed Al Mahmud Titumir has been assigned to the Ministry of Finance.
Among the advisors with the rank of State Minister, Brigadier General (Retd.) Shamsul Islam has been tasked with the Ministry of Defense. Mahdi Amin has been assigned to lead four ministries: the Ministry of Education, Primary and Mass Education, Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment, and Labour and Employment. Furthermore, Rehan Asif Asad has been given charge of the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and IT, along with the Ministry of Science and Technology.
These advisors were initially appointed last Tuesday. The distribution of portfolios is expected to accelerate administrative and policy-making activities across the respective ministries.
