Fair Election Impossible Under Party Govt: Jamaat Gen Secretary

Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Mia Golam Porwar has asserted that the recent by-elections in Sherpur and Bogra prove fair voting cannot happen under a partisan administration.

Speaking at a protest rally at Baitul Mukarram this Friday (April 10, 2026), Mia Golam Porwar claimed that the by-elections witnessed a "rebirth of Awami political culture."

He emphasized that without comprehensive state reforms aligned with the spirit of the recent mass uprising, a neutral election environment remains out of reach. The Jamaat leader also reiterated the demand for implementing the results of the national referendum to ensure liberation from fascist remnants.

Following the rally, thousands of party activists marched from the North Gate of Baitul Mukarram through Paltan and Bijoynagar, concluding the demonstration at Kakrail.
