India has agreed to reopen medical and business visas for Bangladeshi citizens starting next week, according to Foreign Affairs Adviser Humayun Kabir.
He shared the update with journalists on Monday at the Secretariat following a meeting between the Chief Adviser Tarique Rahman and officials.
Kabir said that with a positive mindset, bilateral relations between Bangladesh and India could advance significantly. He noted that constructive discussions were held on several issues of mutual interest between the two countries.
Responding to a question about whether former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina would be brought back, Kabir said that discussions had taken place regarding her return through legal processes.
Earlier, Foreign Minister Khalilur Rahman and Foreign Affairs Adviser Humayun Kabir visited New Delhi on a three-day trip last week. During the visit, they held talks with India’s External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, focusing on various aspects of bilateral relations.
