US Embassy Launches 50 Special Rickshaws in Dhaka to Mark America’s 250th Anniversary

Brent Christensen has inaugurated 50 specially decorated rickshaws in Dhaka to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States.

According to a statement issued Wednesday by the Embassy of the United States in Dhaka, the traditional rickshaws have been painted in red, white and blue — the colors of the American national flag.

The embassy said the initiative is not only intended to commemorate 250 years of American independence, but also to symbolize the longstanding friendship and strong people-to-people ties between Bangladesh and the United States.

The colorful rickshaws are expected to travel across the streets of Dhaka as part of the anniversary celebrations, blending Bangladeshi cultural heritage with American national symbolism.
