PM Tarique Rahman Congratulates U.S. on 250th Independence Day

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has extended warm congratulations to U.S. President Donald Trump and the American people on the occasion of the 250th Independence Day of the United States, reaffirming Bangladesh's commitment to further strengthening its longstanding partnership with Washington.

In a congratulatory message sent on Saturday, the Prime Minister said that the Government of Bangladesh, its people, and he personally extend their heartfelt greetings on the historic milestone.

"We believe that under your pragmatic and visionary leadership, the United States will continue to achieve even greater success in the decades ahead," he wrote in his message to President Trump.

Referring to the nationwide "America 250" celebrations, the Prime Minister said the commemoration serves as an inspiration to people around the world by highlighting the American dream, the nation's sacrifices, its commitment to freedom, enduring values, rich heritage, and global contributions.

Recalling the longstanding relationship between Bangladesh and the United States, Tarique Rahman said the U.S. has remained a valued friend and an important development partner since Bangladesh's independence. Over the past five decades, he noted, bilateral relations have evolved into a strong partnership encompassing trade, investment, education, defense cooperation, and people-to-people exchanges.

The Prime Minister also said that the beginning of this year marked a new chapter in bilateral relations, with significant progress in trade, energy cooperation, and investment. He expressed deep appreciation for the United States' continued support and generosity in addressing the Rohingya humanitarian crisis.

Reaffirming Bangladesh's commitment to closer cooperation, Tarique Rahman said his government looks forward to working closely with President Trump and his administration to further deepen the partnership on issues of mutual interest.

He concluded the message by wishing President Trump good health, long life, and continued success, while expressing hopes for lasting peace, prosperity, and happiness for the people of the United States.
