Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, has officially invited Bangladesh's Prime Minister Tarique Rahman to visit the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The invitation was handed over by Saudi Ambassador to Bangladesh Dr. Abdullah Jafar H. bin Abiah during a courtesy meeting with the Prime Minister at the Bangladesh Secretariat on Monday morning (Bangladesh time).
Speaking at an emergency press briefing at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs afterward, the Prime Minister's Foreign Affairs Adviser, Humayun Kabir, confirmed the invitation. He said the schedule for the Prime Minister's visit to Saudi Arabia would be finalized through mutual consultations between the two governments.
Humayun Kabir also said that Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has extended an invitation to Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to visit Bangladesh.
Describing the development as highly significant, he said Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia share strong bilateral relations and that the government aims to elevate the partnership to a strategic level.
