Trump Administration Consults Allies on Iran Action

President Donald Trump is set to meet with senior defense and intelligence officials from Israel and Saudi Arabia this week to discuss Iran, including the possibility of military action, according to sources familiar with the matter.

Uncertainty remains over potential military steps in Iran, as Trump last week indicated that a “naval fleet” is moving toward the country, while expressing hope that it would not need to be used.

Israeli officials traveled to Washington to share intelligence regarding potential targets inside Iran. Meanwhile, Saudi officials are reportedly pushing for a diplomatic resolution to help avoid a broader regional conflict.

Earlier this week, Saudi state news agency SPA reported that Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman told Iranian President Masoud Pezheshkian that Riyadh would not allow its airspace or territory to be used for a military operation against Tehran.
