France will not supply offensive weapons to Israel amid the ongoing tensions with Iran, according to Catherine Vautrin.
In a statement posted on social media on Saturday, Vautrin said that while France is not providing weapons to Israel, it has approved the sale of certain components used in air defense systems, including parts for the Iron Dome. She added that some equipment is intended strictly for re-export, with portions also serving the needs of France’s own armed forces.
Earlier, French President Emmanuel Macron announced that France would not take part in any military offensive against Iran alongside the United States and Israel.
Reacting to France’s position, Israel’s ambassador to France expressed strong dissatisfaction, stating that France can no longer be considered a friend of Israel.
