The United Nations children's agency, UNICEF, has sounded a dire alarm, describing the impact of intensifying Israeli airstrikes on Lebanese children as "devastating and inhumane."

Following a brutal wave of strikes this past Tuesday that claimed the lives of 33 children and injured 153 more within minutes, UNICEF reports a staggering toll. Since March 2, approximately 600 children have been killed or injured across Lebanon.

The agency estimates that out of the one million displaced people, nearly 390,000 are children, many of whom have been forced to flee multiple times.

UNICEF highlights harrowing accounts of children being pulled from rubble, while many others remain missing or separated from their families. The trauma of losing loved ones and homes is leaving a permanent scar on an entire generation. Reminding the world that international humanitarian law mandates the protection of civilians, UNICEF has called for an immediate cessation of hostilities to safeguard the lives of the innocent.
