Following the conclusion of the high-stakes diplomatic talks in Islamabad, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has stated that the United States failed to build the necessary trust required for a breakthrough. In his first formal response via a series of statements on X (formerly Twitter), Ghalibaf expressed skepticism regarding the intentions of the opposing delegation.

Ghalibaf emphasized that while Iran entered the negotiations with genuine goodwill and a commitment to resolution, the shadows of past conflicts continue to hinder progress. He noted that due to the "bitter experiences" of previous decades, Tehran remains deeply cautious. According to the Speaker, the American representatives were unable to provide even the minimum level of assurance needed to secure Iranian confidence during this round of dialogue.

Despite the lack of a formal agreement, Ghalibaf extended his profound gratitude to Pakistan for its role as a facilitator. He described Pakistan as a "brotherly nation" and praised its efforts in providing a platform for these critical geopolitical discussions. He concluded by sending warm regards to the people of Pakistan for their hospitality and diplomatic mediation.
